Ingredients

  • 1 recipe Simply Delicious Mashed Potatoes*
  • Olive oil
  • 8 pork sausage links country
  • 2 large sweet onions
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • Fresh thyme
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/4 – 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper

Method

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear sausage on all sides and set aside.
  2. To the same pan, add butter and olive oil. Once melted, add onions, mushrooms, and garlic. When onions soften, add flour, salt, and pepper, and stir.
  3. Whisk in broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.
  4. Place sausage back in pan and tuck into gravy.
  5. Simmer until gravy is thickened and pork sausage is 145°F.
  6. Serve over mashed potatoes.
