Sausage & Mash with Mushroom & Onion Gravy
Ingredients
- 1 recipe Simply Delicious Mashed Potatoes*
- Olive oil
- 8 pork sausage links country
- 2 large sweet onions
- 1/2 cup butter
- Fresh thyme
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- 1/4 – 1/3 cup flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper
Method
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear sausage on all sides and set aside.
- To the same pan, add butter and olive oil. Once melted, add onions, mushrooms, and garlic. When onions soften, add flour, salt, and pepper, and stir.
- Whisk in broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.
- Place sausage back in pan and tuck into gravy.
- Simmer until gravy is thickened and pork sausage is 145°F.
- Serve over mashed potatoes.
